Jacquie Liggett Fellowship Guidelines & Application Process
Fellowship A
The Jacquie Liggett Fellowship (A) has been established for basic or translational research conducted in the Florida. The Fellow can either be a Doctor of Medicine or a PhD. The award will be given for $50,000 per year and the term of the Fellow's grant will generally be for two years with the possibility of a third year at the recommendation of the H.O.W. Medical Advisory Board. If the Fellow presents at a recognized society, HOW will contribute $2000 toward the expenses in addition. Every effort is to be made that the Fellow's primary location for research or for conducting business remains in Florida.
Fellowship B
The Jacquie Liggett Fellowship (B) will be award to a gynecologic oncologist in training in one of the approved programs in Florida. The award will be given to the fellow who will spend his/her research year investigating ovarian cancer conducting clinical, basic or translation research. The fellowship must have the approval of the Board of Gynecologic Oncology. The research should be continued into the second year or longer. Twice a year a written report as to the progress of the research will be submitted to HOW. The award will be for $50,000 per year for 2 years. If the Fellow presents at a recognized society, HOW will contribute $2000 toward the expenses in addition.
